Hello everyone! It’s been a while, clearly. I’ve been incredibly busy with my dissertation, on top of everything else that I’ve got going on. As a result, blogging sort of just fell off my plate for a few months. But I’m back, I’ve brought ideas and ambition, and I’m planning to kickstart Moving Scouse‘s revival with my participation in this year’s Vegan MoFo!
While I didn’t get to partake last year (brand-new mum, says it all), I joined in for a few years before that. You can find ALL my Vegan MoFo posts through the Vegan MoFo tag! Here’s my rough plan for the month of October:
- I’m going to post around six times a week, including a weekly round-up.
- I’m mostly going to stick to the Vegan MoFo themes and prompts, but I’ll be veering off topic to do my own thing every so often. There will be plenty of food. There will also be a bit of fitness, fashion, maybe some parenting and some DIY… who knows!?
- I have a rough schedule set out, but if there is something you would really like to see, let me know at any time and I’ll try to make it work!
The first week’s Vegan MoFo theme is Changing Vegan Perceptions, which is great, because I’ve been thinking a lot how much veganism has become easier since I first took the plunge. Vegan Ben & Jerry’s, anyone? We’re seeing plant-based eating become more and more mainstream, with a new cookbook released in seemingly weekly intervals. Veganism is all over Instagram. A certain grime artist is convincing teens to ditch the meat by the dozens. Hundreds of blogs dedicate themselves to cruelty-free lifestyles, highlighting that veganism includes cosmetics, fashion and homeware. Lots of these blogs are taking part in Vegan MoFo, so make sure you check out the blogroll.
I think that 2017 is a really exciting year for veganism, and I’m convinced Vegan MoFo will reflect that. Bring it on, October!
