‘Tis the season! For christmas drinks in coffee shops, for sparkling lights and for decorated pine trees (okay, maybe not just yet). ‘Tis also the season for gifting and for the storm of seasonally-scented and packaged beauty items and sets to hit the shelves! I was recently contacted to introduce me to Simply Be‘s beauty range, which includes plenty of seasonal gifting ideas. I previously only new the brand as a curvy clothing retailer and never really looked any further, knowing the clothes wouldn’t fit me. However, their beauty section has absolutely blown me out of the water! They have everything – electricals, skincare, make up, hair products, and best of all, they have a really big selection of vegan and cruelty-free items. They even have a whole range of PIXI products!
I do really appreciate a pampering gift, especially now that I have a toddler and excuses to take 20 minutes to myself are few and far between. I know that many other parents of small children feel the same, so if you’re looking for a gift for the knackered new mum in your life, skip the 700th cute baby-grow and buy her some candy-cane themed bubble bath instead. I promise it’ll go down well. To help us along with the search a bit, I’ve put together some suggestions of Simply Be’s best vegan and cruelty-free beauty brands! Psst – if you’re thinking of treating someone this Christmas and want to get your shopping out of the way, I’ve heard that Simply Be are having a big Black Friday event. Check back on the 24th of November, you might be able to make some big savings!
Did you know that the entire Baylis & Harding range is vegan? Me neither, but I was pleasantly suprised to find out when I researched them for this post! Simple Be carry quite a big selection of their items, including their Beauticology gift sets! I decided to try the Showtime gift set and I wasn’t disappointed – Candy Apple, Caramel Popcorn and Toffee Apple scents have made my morning shower seem much more luxurious than usual!
Bomb Cosmetics are famously cruelty-free, but careful! Not all their products are vegan, and the ingredients don’t necessarily reflect that. I searched the company’s page for vegan items while preparing for this article, and the Chocolate Ballotin box came up, so I presumed it was okay! It later turned out that the chocolate decorations aren’t actually vegan, and that this is only mentioned at the bottom of the description rather than in the actual ingredients, which tripped me up, so pay extra attention! Still, the actual bath bomb ingredients looked completely animal-free to me, and Simply Be carry a very large range of Bomb Cosmetics gift sets, so you should be able to find something suitable without too much trouble!
Real Techniques have been making vegan makeup brushes from the very start, and they’ve become a staple in many a cosmetics bag – including mine! I don’t always clean my brushes as much as I should, though, so I decided to try the brush cleansing palette to see if it would make a difference. I thought it might be a big of a gimmick, but my brushes have never been so clean! I highly recommend it, along with the Core Collection brush set, which I’ve used almost daily for over three years.
Did you know about Simply Be’s beauty range? What are your favourite vegan products in it? I’m looking forward to placing my Black Friday order!
