Review – The Vegan Kind Box 2

TVK box 2I can’t believe it’s been a month since the first Vegan Kind box arrived! December’s box was, if anything, even better than the last. I really loved unpacking all the products and I’m already certain that I’ll be repurchasing quite a few of them. This month, Caitlin from The Vegan Word provided a delicious recipe for Twice Baked Butternut Squash, which I’ll be trying the minute a butternut squash turns up in my veg box.TVK Box 2 ContentAs you can see, this was a generously filled box. I was so excited when I picked it up an felt how heavy it was!

TVK box 2 cleaning spray The first product I fished out of the package was Greenfrog All Purpose Natural Cleaner (full size). I love trying new vegan, natural household products, so this is right up my street. So far I’ve only tried it once, but the smell is absolutely delicious, which might help with my reluctance to do housework… I also love that this is made from soap nuts, which were featured in last month’s box as a natural laundry detergent.

TVK Box 2 Freedom mallowsI’ve written an in-depth review of Freedom Mallows before, so I won’t say too much about them here. If anything, they’ve gotten even better, and two new varieties have been introduced, Strawberry and White Vanilla (as opposed to the original Yellow Vanilla version). The sample included in my box was a bag of white vanilla (full size).

TVK box 2 soapDr. Bronner‘s Baby Mild Magic Soap (sample size) is a product I’d never heard before, but that I’m really curious about. I found quite a few blog posts that claim this is an incredibly versatile product, so we’ll see how many different uses I can think up! Unfortunately, there isn’t a baby in our house (yet), but this a great size for travel and, I have heard, makes a brilliant shampoo for make-up brushes!

TVK box 2 lipbalmI’m usually sceptical about lip balms as I’ve only found very few to be actually effective, but YAOH Lipbalm (full size) in Strawberries & Cream might be my new favourite! It really moisturises, which means it actively helps chapped lips to heal rather than just soothing them temporarily, and the smell is divine! It’s made with hemp seed oil at its base, which might just be the secret behind its effectiveness!

TVK Box 2 Protein BarThe Arbonne Protein Bar (full size bar) didn’t last very long. We saw it, we unwrapped it, we ate it. It’s everything you would expect from a protein bar, and it tastes delicious! I’m definitely going to be repurchasing these, as I’ve had real trouble finding vegan protein bars and these would be perfect to chuck in my ballet bag and snack on after training!

TVK Box 2 towlettesTowlettes are not something I could truthfully claim to buy very often, but I’m actually going to be making quite a few train journeys before christmas, so I think the Mendill Organic Towlettes (sample) will come in very handy. I haven’t opened these yet so I can’t say much about effectiveness or smell.

TVK Box 2 SnowflakeAs a little extra, The Vegan Kind included a (not so) little snowflake decoration, which I’ve added to my advent crown! Thanks, Karris!

Overall, this was another brilliant box. The retail value of the products comes to £12.73, which I think is a pretty good deal. If The Vegan Kind maintain this level of awesome, I think this subscription might be the best thing I’ve ever decided to purchase. I really can’t wait for the next box!

The Vegan Kind subscriptions can be purchased for £10.00 + £2.95 p&p and will be delivered to your doorstep every month.

Disclaimer: I receive a 50% blogger discount on my subscription. This does not in any way affect the honesty of my review. I would never falsify an opinion to please a brand, nor would I want you to believe a product was worth spending your hard-earned money on when it’s rubbish. If I don’t like something, I’ll be sure to let you know.
