Review: Naturata Weisse Stracciatella Kirsch

Today’s post is again part of my recent German vegan haul (although this product is Swiss), again focussing on everyone’s favourite vegetable: chocolate. This time, it’s all about Naturata Weisse Stracciatelle Kirsch, a bar of white chocolate with dark chocolate bits and dried cherries. Sounds delicious, right?


Unfortunately, upon opening the bar, I saw that the cocoa butter had separated from the rest a little bit, resulting in those white spots. This would be due to the high outside temperatures and suboptimal handling and storage, so I’ll let Naturata off on this occasion!
Much more importantly, I thought the combination of white and dark chocolate with cherries was superb. While I think that the white chocolate itself needs a bit of work (it tastes watery and fatty at the same time), as is the case with every vegan white chocolate I have ever tasted, I thought that the tartness of the cherries really balanced the flavours out.
I think that the company are onto a winning combination here and really hope that they are able to develop a better white chocolate recipe soon. But as I’ve mentioned before, I think vegan white chocolate must be incredibly hard to perfect, due to the ‘standard’ version relying so heavily on milk products for flavour and consistency. I’m keeping my fingers crossed for a near-future breakthrough!

    Sorry to hear that bar reached you is such a bad condition. I agreee that the white chocolate is a bit watery and I am not the biggest fan of that specific bar. Although I agree and think that the combination sounds great!

    I want to try Naturata bars so much. I agree about white chocolate being watery and fatty. It’s such a strange product, I remember even the nonvegan kind. But yeah adding cherries will fix it!

      Yeah I don’t know why every brand seems to have the same problem! But the cherries do make it a lot better :)
