Review: Lush – Bûche de Noël

Buche de Noel 2

I’m feeling a little bit under the weather today, so I decided to review one of my favourite christmassy products in an attempt to cheer myself up. Bûche de Noël is a product that Lush revive every year during the festive season, and it’s one of the most popular products ever. I’ve yet to meet someone who doesn’t like it (except for a certain Geordie who is allergic to cranberries…)Buche de Noel Review 3The almond, satsuma & cranberry cocktail seems to be the perfect combination for my difficult skin, as it always seems to clear up and become more radiant when I use this product. It does take my face a few days to get used to it’s new routine though, during which I always experience a little bit of drying. However, this disappears quite quickly and I’m left with smooth, christmas-scented skin for the rest of the winter! I usually don’t even need to use moisturiser, as the almonds supply the perfect amount of hydration after the initial dry-spell.

This is far less scrubby than Lush’s other christmas face cleanser, Let the Good Times Roll,  and therefore possibly more appealing to those with super-sensitive skin. I’m currently using Bûche de Noël as my every-day cleanser, and reaching for the scrub about two or three times a week.

This is certainly a product that I would purchase again and again. I sort of wish it was available year-round, but the limited edition status makes it just that little but more special! It is a little more pricy than your typical face-wash (that depends on what you usually use, of course) but you do get a very long-lasting, natural product.

Does your face need extra care in the cold months? What do you do?

Bûche de Noël is available at Lush online and in-store during the festive season, and retails at £5.95/100g.

  1. Sorry you’re feeling rotten – I think I’m coming down with a bug too, so I’m taking it easier today and hoping I recover!

    1. I’m sorry to hear that – glad you’re resting up! It’s the only thing that helps I think. And copious amounts of tea :D
