Recently, I’ve been trying to expand my eye-makeup from just liner and mascara to something a bit more adventurous. The blogosphere has been full of rave reviews of the colour tattoo shadows, but since they’re off-limits for vegans, I’ve been looking for a decent alternative. Enter Superdrug’s exclusive B. range, which is completely vegan. But you knew that already.
B. Stunning is a range of cream eyeshadows with a shimmery base. I chose the copper shade, which turned out to be a little more red than I had thought (not sure what I was expecting). Apart from that, I’m quite pleased with the product itself, as it applies fairly easily (after using it a few times and getting rid of the more solid and dry layer at the top) and stays in place literally all day long. I’ve tested this both with and without primer and it just does not budge. My only criticism is that the glitter sometimes separates a bit from the colour, so once in a while I’ve ended up with slightly flecked eye makeup. I think this has gotten better with continued use though, so that might have had something to do with the dodgy top layer.
The pot is a nice size and definitely sturdy with an easy-to-open screw-to lid. I like that the mouth is wide enough to use a large eyeshadow brush. I do think that the price is a little bit more than many other high-street brands, but I also think that the quality and that fact that the whole rang of products is vegan justify that.
Overall, this is definitely something I would re-purchase, although I’d probably choose a different colour. I’ve got my eye on the monochrome shades!
B. Stunning in Copper is available from Superdrug for £6.99.
