The post I had originally planned for today has fallen through due to unforseeable logistical difficulties, so I’m substituting it with one I had planned for next month instead. This is also why today’s post is being published rather late in the day. Unfortunately, it has nothing to do with food, but veganism is applicable to so much more than calorific fuel so today I’ll be posting a little cosmetics haul.
A few weeks ago, I had somehow managed to run out of nearly all my everyday bathroom necessities at once. This is a rare occurrence indeed, as I’m usually running to Boots every week to buy a single bottle of something, so I really enjoyed taking my time choosing items, looking for deals and walking around Boots and Superdrug with a little basket.
From Boots, I got naked – Rescue shampoo and conditioner, as well as naked – Detox 2-in-1 shampoo and conditioner because the brand was on a 3-for-2 deal. This is my absolute favourite haircare brand, 97% natural, no SLS and a good choice of vegan products.
Moving on to Superdrug, I picked up some Superdrug Pure Anti-Perspirant Deodorant. Have you ever noticed how hard it is to find a clearly labelled vegan deodorant? I’m not too sure about the scent though, I don’t think it’ll be something I’ll purchase again.
Because I’m forever running out of makeup remover, Superdrug Simply Pure Gentle Eye Make-Up Remover also landed in my basket. I’ve used it a few times now and it’s very effective, especially at getting rid of those last dregs of mascara that usually don’t come off and end up under your eyes in the mornings!
To replace my Lush Tea Tree Water (it lasted me a good 2 years!) I bought some Superdrug Tea Tree Cleanser & Toner, which I use after washing my face in the morning and evening. It’s very effective, evens out my skin and, very importantly, doesn’t dry it out.
Lastly, I needed shower gel, so I chose Superdrug Fruit Source Strawberry & Raspberry. This is an excellent Original Source dupe and smells delicious.
I’m getting really excited about all the vegan cosmetics out there. What are your essentials?
