Another Moskovitz-Romero collaboration, and another raging success. Following a similar structure to Vegan Cupcakes Take Over The World, this is a small, softcover, full-colour little book with a lovely picture for almost every recipe and instructions for not only the pies themselves, but also for toppings, variations and basics, just like you would expect from this duo.
The definiton of pie is stretched quite a bit in this book, including all kinds of cheesecakes and tarts (I’m dying to try the Grasshopper one!), and I was pleasantly surprised at the taste of the cheesecake recipes. They use nuts and bananas to achieve the right texture rather than fake cream cheese, and they taste amazing!
The only negative things I can say about this book is that the ingredients can be quite expensive (raw cashews & coconut oil) and that several recipes take a bit of practice. See for yourself…
But practice does make perfect and I got there in the end. I really love this book and it includes a huge variety of recipes, from cheesecakes to hand pies to traditional fruit pies, so if that’s the kind of thing you’re into (I know I am), I would really recommend buying it.
