A few months ago, I asked on instagram whether I should launch a book club on Moving Scouse. It was an idea that had been floating about my head for a while, and I wanted to test the waters before I put in all the planning and organisational effort. To my delight (and also surprise), the overwhelming answer was yes. After thinking some more and
dragging bringing my uni bestie on board (you can find her instagram HERE), we’re excited to bring you the Moving Scouse Book Club!
How the book club works
Every month, we’ll choose a theme, which we’ll use to create a shortlist of three or four relevant books. At the beginning of the month, I will update this post with the new shortlist, and you can vote for your favourite through a poll. The poll will close after seven days, and the results will determine the month’s book. I’ll then ask anyone who wants to join the club discussion to get in touch on instagram, so that I can create a group chat. Everyone is welcome, and there’s no deadline to join! We’ll keep quiet for a week to make sure everyone has had a chance to read the book, or at least part of it, and then we’ll open up the discussion. After a week of exchanging our thoughts about ‘our’ book, we’ll close the discussion, and I’ll share a write-up post.
