Moving Scouse Book Club

About a month ago, I asked on instagram whether I should launch a book club on Moving Scouse. It was an idea that had been floating about my head for a while, and I wanted to test the waters before I put in all the planning and organisational effort. To my delight (and also surprise), the overwhelming answer was yes. After thinking some more and dragging bringing my uni bestie on board (you can find her instagram HERE), we’re excited to launch the Moving Scouse Book Club today!book club

How the book club works

Every month, we’ll choose a theme, which we’ll use to create a shortlist of three or four relevant books. At the beginning of the month, I will update this post with the new shortlist, and you can vote for your favourite through a poll. The poll will close after seven days, and the results will determine the month’s book. I’ll then ask anyone who wants to join the club discussion to get in touch on instagram, so that I can create a group chat. Everyone is welcome, and there’s no deadline to join! We’ll keep quiet for a week to make sure everyone has had a chance to read the book, or at least part of it, and then we’ll open up the discussion. After a week of exchanging our thoughts about ‘our’ book, we’ll close the discussion, and I’ll share a write-up post.

February Book Club

Since February is Valentine’s Day month, we thought a selection of our favourite chick-lit was appropriate. The winner was Can you Keep a Secret?, and we’ll open up discussion next Friday. In the meantime, get your hands on a copy and DM me over on instagram so I can add you to the group chat!

I voted for The Break, just cos I already read it so I’d be ahead of the game! Haha! Unfortunately Chick Lit is just about the only genre I don’t read but I’ll give it a go :) x

Haha way ahead! I promise it won’t all be chick lit, but I thought it was a fitting way to get started! If you have suggestions for next month that you’d really like to read, let me know and I’ll include them :) xx
