About Moving Scouse

Hi and welcome, I’m so glad you’re here! Moving Scouse emerged a decade ago when I, you guess it, moved to Liverpool. I wanted a way to share my life and studies with friends and family back home, and that’s what blogs were used for way back then! The world and my life have changed a lot since then, but the good old blog has tried its very best to keep up. We now try to bring you freshly written content about all things vegan and sustainable living and parenting about twice a month. If you’re a fellow millennial, trying to navigate life with a young family, a career, and a high-maintenance skincare routine in the most cruelty-free and sustainable way possible, then I’m here for you!

You’re not vegan and still use plastic bags during you food shop? You’re still more than welcome here! Moving Scouse is for everyone with an interest in sustainability. Nobody is perfect, and this site exists to bring you ideas as well as information. I want to empower everyone to take an interest in sustainability and the environment, regardless of where you’re at right now. I firmly believe that sustainability is all about doing what’s possible within your personal circumstances, while not losing sight of the bigger picture – which is about politics, not solid shampoo.

So, if you enjoy written pieces about the politics of food and sustainable policy as well as vegan parenting, secondhand fashion, eco beauty, you’re in the right place. Enjoy a browse through my archives or visit me on instagram for lots more!

About Hannah

I never planned to stay in Liverpool, I was going to move to yet another country to do my MA, and then follow some sort of research career. But obviously life has a way of changing your plans for you. I fell in love, got married, started a family and built a career. And now, almost ten years later, Liverpool is well and truly home.

We have a two kids and hanging out with them is the best thing in the world. I also love baking, working out (running, yoga, and anything Les Mills keep me going), and I have two degrees in global politics. I now work in a very different field, but still write about politics a lot. Stories are my favourite thing ever, and I live for good books and films. It would be very hard to pick a favourite, but stories that really hold my heart are Stardust, The Princess Bride, and Good Omens. During lockdown, I became a Marvel superfan and my life is better for it. I love talking about sustainability in food and fashion, and have way too much fun testing out the latest cruelty-free and vegan beauty products. I don’t believe in astrology, but no one is ever surprised when they find out I’m a scorpio.

Like most women of my generation, my life is pretty full. Sometimes, that can be exhausting and overwhelming and stressful. But most of the time, it’s pretty damn fulfilling. So I try to share the things that help, the things that are important, and the things that are the most fun on this site. And the fact that you like it enough to be here reading it means the world.
